In this presentation, we demonstrate the predictable patterns of muscle imbalance at the heart of this painful condition. Through observation and muscle resistance testing the nature of the condition can be quickly identified. A treatment plan is then formulated and applied to address the underlying cause as well as treat the specific nature of the client’s symptoms. Then simple, targeted home retraining is demonstrated to maintain the benefits of treatment.

There are multiple conditions that can cause Shin Splints symptoms, such as, tibial stress syndrome (periostitis of the medial margin of the tibia), a stress fracture or posterior deep muscle compartment syndrome. However, in the majority of cases, this common overuse condition is the result of a Dynamic Compartment Syndrome, brought about by a predictable pattern of muscle imbalance in the lower leg.
In this presentation we demonstrate practical steps for getting to the heart of this painful condition, and achieving lasting resolution of symptoms.
